🟢 Steering Committees are an important component of our global strengthening projects for National Met Services. They allow us, twice a year, to gather high-level representatives of our customers to assess the progress of a project, point out eventual difficulties and take decisions to make sure everything continues to roll out smoothly and efficiently. The human aspect of these committees is also crucial as they are the perfect opportunity to strengthen ties and foster the spirit of partnership that we wish to instil in all our projects.
🗓️ Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure to participate to the 4th Steering Committee of the VIGICLIMM Project we are carrying out for SODEXAM. It was organized in Marrakech as the Moroccan National Met service is involved in the project through a partnership enabling 20 staff members of SODEXAM to follow a qualifying diploma as meteorology technician in Morroco.
✅ The 2-day meeting occurred as the VIGICLIMM Project is reaching an 80% rate of completion. The major milestones in the past months were the Site Acceptance Tests for airport observation systems (2 sites) and all synoptic stations (27 sites). Our teams were also busy with the Factory Acceptance Tests for all information systems. Lastly the construction of the 2500 sqm and 2-storage building specifically designed to house SODEXAM’s Meteorological Department is now well underway and expected to be delivered by Summer 2026.
🔜 So what is next? We are now entering the final stretch of the project. The major focus of the coming months will be the installation of the C-band weather radar and the organization of Site Acceptance Tests for all information systems. These tests will be the opportunity for MFI’s and SODEXAM’s teams to work together to optimize the use of the new solutions implemented and the associated operational processes.
🎯 The coming period promises to be intense and high-stakes, but it will also be exciting as we get closer and closer to our ultimate goal: optimizing the overall efficiency of SODEXAM's Meteorological Department for the benefit of a whole country and a whole population. Let’s go💪🏼!
