🚨If you follow our page, you know that MFI has been strongly committed to finding effective solutions to the United Nations 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙡 challenge since it was launched in 2022. We have conceptualized an integrated multi-stakeholder approach across the 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 / 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻. It is based on an 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗕𝗢 (𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 – 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 – 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲) 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 and relies on 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰-𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 which, we believe, are the only way to reach UN’s target in a timely and sustainable manner.

⏰ It is more than time to move on from theory to action and that is just what we are doing with the 𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗠 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 we are carrying in Côte d'Ivoire for the benefit of SODEXAM. The project aims at strengthening the Ivorian global Warning System, while also developing the country’s climate and meteorological service capacity.

🫱🏽‍🫲🏽 A few days ago, we brought together forecasters from 𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠's Meteorological Department and representatives of ONPC CI (Ivorian Civil Protection) in a unique workshop, jointly organized with our partner PREDICT Services, specialized in flood risk management. This original workshop gave the realistic conditions to operationally test the integrated Early Warning / Early Action technical environment developed by MFI and PREDICT. It was the opportunity to check out and optimize coordination processes between 𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠 and 𝗢𝗡𝗣𝗖-𝗖𝗜 when managing and issuing weather warnings. No doubt that the feedback of the workshop will be used as a valuable input before full-scale implementation in Côte d'Ivoire.

🌤️ 🚒We are convinced an efficient cooperation between National Met Services and National Disaster Management Authorities is a crucial key success factor for any Early Warning system, and the only way to turn 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that really protect lives and infrastructure. It was a great satisfaction to see this principle take life during this 𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗠 workshop: a validation that our approach and methodology meet the expectations "𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥" to reach the objectives of the 𝗨𝗡 𝗘𝗪𝟰𝗔𝗹𝗹 initiative.
