📆 Last week, our client the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗮𝘆 (𝗠𝗔𝗚) organized a public presentation of the project we’ve been achieving together since 2023, as part of the wider 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗙𝗜 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. The project is carried out in collaboration with Paraguay’s National Hydromet Service (𝗗𝗛𝗠 – 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗮 𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗮), and financed by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

🎯The objective of this project is to 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. This means providing weather-based decision-making information and early warnings to small family farming producers to:
- Better manage their activities in the fields 🚜
- Anticipate weather conditions that could impact their daily activities ⛈️
- Increase their revenues 💰

💡The objective of the presentation was to detail the content of this innovative project and to focus on its outcomes and direct benefits for Paraguayan farmers, and more generally for national food security.

✅Up to this day, 𝟳𝟲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 have access to the agromet information, products and warnings generated by 𝗠𝗙𝗜’s solution. This represents 𝟮,𝟴𝟳𝟲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 with a male/female ratio leaning in favour of women since they represent 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟲𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀. Various agricultural sectors are concerned such as dairy 🥛, corn 🌽 , onion🧅or cereal 🌾production.

🧑🏼‍🌾 The decision-aid products generated by 𝗠𝗙𝗜’s solution have been designed in collaboration with local user groups to respond relevantly to their needs. Member farmers now have have access 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 5-𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴, 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, etc.

🌤️ The potential of 𝗠𝗙𝗜's solution is just waiting to be developed, as many sectors require targeted met and warning information. Other fields of application are already being foreseen. For example, representatives from Instituto Forestal Nacional del Paraguay were present at last week’s event as protection of forest and fire prevention could benefit from such a system. Same thing for Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC…
